Your new role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Portfolio Lead, to join our growing Digital Services directorate in Birmingham.
As a Portfolio Lead within the Business Partnering Team, you’ll be accountable for strategic planning, overseeing the co-development and delivery of Strategic Roadmaps and building out a demand pipeline for the consumption of Digital Services. In addition, you will support the Business Partner across a number of cross cutting change initiatives.
What you’ll be leading on
Lead strategic planning activities across key business directorates including the development and management of the Strategic Roadmap
Oversee Demand Management and the collation of business needs to align to core service offerings and work with solutioning leads to identify the creation of new services
Work across Digital Service teams including Strategy, Governance, Programme Delivery and Service Operation functions to manage resource requirements, mobilisation of projects, identifying and actively managing portfolio risks, issues and dependencies
Track and report financial spend identifying and escalating any variations to budget within the portfolio, and support the wider DS Directorate’s forecasting and business planning activities including Directorate Consumption Management activities.
Champion the voice of the business to lead the prioritisation of demand, triage discussions, facilitating technical review meetings and supporting various governance meetings at a CIO level
Management of Relationship Managers through providing visibility of portfolio priorities, pipeline, resource allocation and workload management
Optimise the team’s performance and delivery, actively address the most complicated risks, issues and dependencies by taking ownership, and identifying innovative ways to unblock issues
Lead continual planning processes in a complex environment and plan beyond product delivery, identify dependencies in plans across services and coordinate delivery.
Communicate effectively across organisational, technical, and political boundaries, understanding the context, successfully react and respond to challenge.
Build strong stakeholder relationships, whilst managing their expectations and facilitating discussions about risk and complexity within constrained timescales
Build, maintain, influence and motivate the Business Partner team, giving and receiving feedback, facilitating the feedback loop and accelerating team performance.
Understand and explore industry trends for asset management technologies, services and processes and develop the team’s knowledge in this area.
Deputise for the Business Partner where required and act as the initial point of escalation for the Line of Service portfolio.
To be successful
Strong stakeholder management or business facing experience where you have acted as the primary point of contact
Experience or awareness of Digital Technologies in an Operational and Capital Delivery context
Experience in supporting preparation of annual business planning cycle and forecasting with strong business, and financial acumen with experience of supporting budget management and planning
Experience or awareness of understanding how large Capital Delivery / infrastructure organisations operate and how Digital Services can effectively enable them
Significant experience of developing technology roadmaps and aligning delivery with business strategies
Managing a portfolio of services / demand pipeline aligned to a specific line of service
Experience of managing teams and resources in complex environments with high safety standards
