Job description

An exciting opportunity for a Postdoctoral Research Fellowin Psychology/Applied Behavioural Science to join the UKRI funded FoodSEqual project (part of the Transforming the UK Food System for Healthy People and a Healthy Environment programme). The work is a large-scale, multi-disciplinary collaboration across a range of community, university and business partners that aims to take a co-creation approach to addressing inequalities in the UK food system, with a focus on disadvantaged communities. Applications are invited for a Research Fellow to join the University of Reading team on the above project. The post holder will be based in the School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences and will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in the area of food choice, in a project that is sponsored by UKRI in collaboration with partners around the UK. The successful candidate will contribute to the wider Behavioural Science and consumer science elements of the project, working in a co-design framework to support study design, data collection, analysis and evaluation components of the project. We are seeking a highly-capable and highly-motivated individual with excellent organisation and communication skills to work as part of the multi-disciplinary  team of collaborators on this project. The successful candidate will have: excellent organisational skills, able to coordinate multiple activities simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail; excellent communication skills, able to support successful collaboration between the project’s academic, business, outreach and community partners, and to communicate appropriately with the general public  experience of and a high level of understanding of psychological research methods, data handling and statistical analysis - some experience in eye-tracking methodologies in psychology would be desirable. have a PhD in psychology, or a closely allied discipline The School of Psychology and Clinical Language Sciences at the University of Reading is a vibrant research environment, with an active community of Early Career Researchers and a range of career development opportunities.
