Job description

The role The Moredun Group is delighted to offer an opportunity for a Research Scientist to join an exciting, inter-disciplinary collaborative EU project (H2020) involving a European consortium of 19 partners, on “The power of grape extracts: antimicrobial and antioxidant properties to prevent the use of antibiotics in farmed animals (NeoGiANT)”. This exciting project has an emphasis in the use of natural formulations with eubiotic, antimicrobial and antioxidant properties from the valorization of white grape marc, to be used in livestock and farmed fish aiming to reduce the dependence on the use of antibiotics in animal/aquaculture production. You will work with several research teams during your time. You will be a highly motivated individual with appropriate laboratory experience and excellent communication skills. This position offers excellent opportunities for career development and skills training as well as collaborative opportunities with several European partners. Experience required You will have: A PhD in Biological Sciences with some experience in Microbiology. Experience of basic histology, immunohistochemistry, and immunological techniques. Experience working with farmed animal species. Experience of standard molecular biology techniques. Further details are provided in the job description.
