Salary We are seeking to appoint a Postdoctoral Research Scientist to join the Research Group of Prof. Christian Siebold who are focused on the structural biology of mammalian cell surface signalling and signal transduction of pathways involved in embryonic development and stem cell regulation.
You will be responsible for managing your own academic research activities which involves small scale project management and to co-ordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines. You will both adapt existing and developing new scientific reports and journal articles. You will test hypotheses and analyse scientific data from a variety of sources. You will also act as a source of information and advice other members of the group on scientific protocols and experimental techniques. You will manage the day to day running of a research project which will include assisting junior researchers in their work.
It is essential that you hold a PhD/DPhil (or close to completion) in biology, cell biology, structural biology, biochemistry or a related field together with experience in single particle cryo- EM data collection and processing. You will have good communication skills both written and oral and the ability to manage the day-to-day running of a research project including assisting the work of junior researchers. Having experience in biology of fundamental developmental biology pathways is highly desirable.
