Location: Birmingham Salary: Full time starting salary is normally in the range £28,762 to £31,411, with potential progression once in post to £35,333. Grade 6 Closes: 15th January 2023 Role Summary External Relations is the division responsible for delivering the University of Birmingham to the world and prides itself on seizing opportunities that will enhance the profile and reputation of the University. We communicate with many different audiences in order to build purposeful relationships internally, locally, nationally and internationally. We enable those who wish to apply to study on undergraduate and postgraduate courses to make informed choices. The Marketing Officer post provides dedicated marketing and digital expertise to the Postgraduate Recruitment and Marketing team. This position works under the guidance of the Marketing Manager and Head of Postgraduate Recruitment and Marketing, working closely with colleagues in the wider Student Recruitment and Marketing team and with colleagues from across External Relations and the wider University. Main Duties Content management Manage the ‘Postgraduate’ sections of the University website, uploading and advising on content, and updating regularly to keep content fresh and up to date. This also includes the intranet pages to inform and support staff across the University. Support and manage the ‘Blog’, ‘Careers’ and ‘Ask’ sections of the postgraduate website (external platform) Build web pages, taking note of style and content within the CMS system and University guidelines. Person specification Degree level education or equivalent experience in a related field, and/or a desire to develop your career in this area. Masters degree desirable.
