Job description

We have a great opportunity based at our Shuttleworth campus for a Practical Instructor to become a key member of our Land & Environment department. As a Practical Instructor, you will play a pivotal role in the success of our students through: To prepare and deliver practical learning materials to learners across a range of courses. To assess practical competence to learners across a range of courses. To participate in the care of animals, to include the college farm, monitoring health, behaviour and welfare of all animals and provide high standards of animal care and management. To participate in the care of horticultural and agricultural crops and demonstration areas. To provide support for technical areas including machinery, horticulture, land and wildlife. To oversee all practical areas across the programme area with responsibility for Health and Safety. Our ideal candidates will have recent successful practical experience in the Land Based sector and experience of working with a range of farm animals, horticultural crops and arable crops, alongside the following qualifications: Level 3 qualification in Agriculture or related Land Based subject area English and Maths or similar at GCSE grade A-C or equivalent Willingness to work towards assessor trainer qualifications Successful candidates must also be able to demonstrate alignment to our organisational values: Student centred - At our heart is always doing what is best for our students.
