Pre-Assessment Lead

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and highly motivated professional to lead our busy Pre-Assessment Department, working on a full-time basis (37.5 per week) with a flexible departmental rota including weekends if required.

The department is expanding the clinical activity it currently undertakes and provides the team the opportunity to expand their skill set, knowledge and competencies. Specific training is provided for staff, in pre-assessment for example. The Ophthalmology pathway has been recently reviewed to provide a designated treatment area enabling ambulatory support to be provided by the out-patient team working closely with the wider team.


The Pre-assessment Lead reports to the Outpatient Manager and provide strong leadership, direction, operational and clinical support to the pre-assessment team.

What you'll do

  • Provide leadership for the Pre-assessment Department
  • Develop excellent working relationships with staff, Consultants, suppliers and key stakeholders
  • Provide effective motivation, monitoring and support for the Pre-assessment team

What you'll bring with you

  • Experience in a Lead role
  • Registered Nurse with the NMC
  • Strong clinical background
  • Comprehensive understanding of relevant clinical standards
  • Knowledge of quality frameworks
  • Coaching, mentoring and staff development skills
