As a Pre-Assessment Nurse, your responsibilities will include:
- Assessing patient's health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload.
- Undertaking electronic pre-operative assessment of patients.
- Identifying and escalating patients of concern against the hospital's admission criteria to senior nursing staff.
- Undertaking a full patient health assessment and triaging their pre-operative assessment requirements.
- Assisting in the delivery of care to meet individuals' health and wellbeing needs.
- Promoting best practice in health and safety and security.
- Assisting in maintaining and developing services.

The ideal candidate for the Pre-Assessment Nurse role will:
- Be a Registered Nurse with no restrictions on practice.
- Have previous experience in a dedicated Pre-Assessment department (desirable).
- Be used to working in teams with minimum supervision.
- Have experience of working in an acute environment.
- Have a surgical background (desirable).
- Have advanced IT skills for electronic pre-operative assessment system.
- Have phlebotomy, venepuncture and ECG skills (desirable or willing to be trained).
- Have outstanding communication skills.
