Preceptorship Podiatrist

To provide expert clinical practice utilising specialised assessment, diagnosis and treatment of patients with wounds to the foot (ankle and below) who present with high levels of complexity, chronic presentation or frailty with the aim of maintaining mobility, tissue viability, independence and relieving pain To provide professional, quality programmes of podiatric care to the highest risk group of diabetic patients and appropriate non vascular patients with limb and life threatening complications. To be the expert and support a multi-professional team in primary care. To be part of the Podiatry Diabetes Specialist team in providing specialised advice, education and training to primary, Specialist Nurses, Podiatrists, GPs and Consultant geriatricians on all aspects of diabetes relating to the lower limb To determine the clinical diagnosis and modifiable factors and to formulate a treatment plan and maintain records as an autonomous practitioner.
