Job description

Thrive Oldham are recruiting a Premisies Officer in the Hinckley Leicestershire area.

The postholder will assist in the delivery of high-quality Community Life Choices (day services), Short Breaks and Supported Living services and will undertake all aspects of premises officer duties. The postholder will be responsible for the maintenance, security and cleanliness of buildings and grounds which ensures that all users have a comfortable, clean, safe and well-maintained environment in which to work and use the facilities.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

To undertake a programme of general maintenance work, as

agreed with the Site Manager to ensure that the services are maintained to a state of good repair on a cost-effective basis.

To ensure service assets and resources including buildings and equipment is maintained to a high standard and compliant with the Council's policies and procedures and relevant regulatory and legislative requirements to ensure safe working. These include (but are not restricted to) Health & Safety Act, Fire Safety Order, LOLER etc. To compile a broad range of risk assessments with guidance from relevant departmental colleagues, comply with audit/inspection visits undertaken by the Council and other relevant bodies and ensure effective follow through of actions highlighted in achieving full compliance.

To work flexibly to meet service requirements. Post holder must be able to work to a service rota working between 7am to 10pm (Monday to Sunday), including working weekends and bank/public holidays when required to meet service need.

To develop local systems, processes and procedures under the direction of the Site Manager to ensure services maintain comprehensive end-to-end processes.

To perform routine checks and minor repairs as required to maintain:

(a) heating (and/or cooling) system(s),

(b) interior and exterior lighting,

(c) plumbing (including minor repairs, clearance of blockages),

(d) changing of diffusers, fuses, bulbs etc,

(e) other systems for the comfort, safety or security of building users.

Alert line manager to requirements for system repair, renewal or specialist maintenance.

To undertake minor repairs to buildings, fixtures, furniture and equipment to a good standard. Reporting any defects to the Site Manager and relevant bodies under instruction.

To provide a responsive porterage service to users of the premises, including lifting and carrying heavy items, furniture and equipment in accordance with Health and Safety guidelines.

To liaise with external contractors and ensure compliance with Health & Safety requirements.

To ensure that equipment including assistive technology and manual handling equipment used at sites is in good working order and is used in accordance with Health and Safety, LOLER regulations, where appropriate.

To use IT systems to develop and standardise appropriate systems to ensure required timely safety checks area carried out. Specifically, ensure hazards are identified and managed.

To be responsible for the planning, set up and presentation of areas in a building in accordance with service requirements. Specifically, meet and greet, coffee mornings, quality assurance requirements.

To open and close buildings and 'unset/reset' alarms in accordance with procedures, to ensure premises are available to customers at specified times as required.

To undertake portable appliance testing (PAT) of equipment.

To oversee and undertake Infection Prevention Control (IPC) procedures of premises ensuring that work is completed to a high standard and complies with safe working practices.

To undertake and oversee cleaning duties at premises as required. This will include floor scrubbing, buffing and polishing along with high level works including clearing of paths, drains, gullies and car parks.

To be responsible for protecting and managing information securely, and reporting breaches or suspected information security breaches, in line with Council policies

To work in accordance with Leicestershire County Council's Employee Code of Conduct, policies and procedures.

To undertake such other duties as are within the scope of the job purpose,

the title of the job and its grading.

The role is 37hrs a week, but candidate needs to be flexible if required to open any sites at weekends

Candidate will need a clean UK driving lenience and have access to a vehicle as they will need to travel between sites, expenses will be paid.

Candidate will need an Enhanced DBS as the site are for Short Break Services so there will be vulnerable Children & Adults.

Potential for this role to be permanent for the right candidate

£12.39 per hour
