We have an exciting opportunity for a full time Prescribing Paramedic to join our surgery team working 2-3 days per week.
Person SpecificationAbility and knowledgeEssential
- Have a current valid UK driving license and be a car owner with appropriate insurance.
- Infection Control
- All staff providing direct patient care must ensure that they follow procedures aimed at reducing the risk of passing on the organisms that can cause infections.
- All staff, collectively and individually, have a duty of care in following best practice in adherence to guidelines which is a fundamental requirement in underpinning the management of Infection, Prevention and Control.
- Safeguarding
- Safeguarding of individuals who come into contact with our services whether a child or young person, person with Learning Disabilities or an older or vulnerable adult, is the responsibility of all employees of the organisation in whatever capacity they are employed.
Desirable
- Knowledge of EMIS Medical Record Keeping System/ System one
- Knowledge in Microsoft - Outlook/Excel/Power Point/Word
QualificationsEssential
- Masters level qualification (Advance Practitioner)
- Relevant nursing/health degree
- Independent prescribing qualification
- HCPC registration
ExperienceEssential
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload
- Experience of working in Primary Care and/or a GP Practice
- Experience of selecting and prescribing a wide range of medicines appropriately, including antibiotics and analgesia.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Provide Basic and Advanced life support
- Provide general clinical advice and wider health promotion
- Ensure safeguarding of vulnerable patients
- Basic IT skills in word processing and e-mail
- Provide clinical support to all colleagues and learners in practice
Desirable
- Experience of the ECP/Advanced Practitioner role within Primary or Secondary Care
- Non-medical prescriber with minimum 12 months experience
- Ability to create and maintain strong professional relationships
