Blandford Medical Centre in Braintree has an opportunity for a Prescription Clerk to join our busy dispensary on a part-time basis, for 20-30 hours per week.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Issuing patients with their medication and handing out prescriptions.
- Adding medication to patient records from hospital letters, issuing prescriptions.
- Dealing with medication queries on the phone with patients, pharmacies, hospitals and care homes.
- Dealing with queries relating to prescription ordering as well as other administrative roles such as stock control and ordering.
- Checking patients medical record to ensure all tests and checks are up to date before issuing prescriptions to the GP for signing.
This is a busy department, and the successful candidate will be able to work under pressure and to deadlines.
About the Candidate
The ideal candidate will:
- possess experience of working in a busy, public environment.
- experience in a GP practice is essential and ideally Prescription Clerk knowledge.
- be flexible, with a positive attitude.
- demonstrate good team working and communication skills.
- demonstrate an excellent standard of patient care.
Knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.
