Press and Communications Officer

Our department is seeking an individual capable of producing content for various external audiences through diverse channels. The role involves editing and proofreading materials from others to ensure high-quality communication.
Key responsibilities include developing and executing a comprehensive media plan, managing proactive interactions with local, national, and trade media, and handling enquiries effectively.
About You:
Skilled in negotiating, consulting, and influencing key stakeholders, including councilors.
Able to provide professional advice, securing support, and commitment for desired actions.
Proficient in presenting complex/sensitive information in an understandable way to diverse audiences.
You'll have the opportunity to enhance your communication skills and contribute to strategic planning.
Qualifications:
Degree in marketing or communications (or equivalent relevant workplace experience).
Recognised professional qualification in Media, Marketing, Public Relations, or equivalent verifiable experience/training.
Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
Requirements:
Availability for travel to locations inside and outside the Borough 2-3 times per week.
