Company Description
The company is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham and due to their current projected growth, we are now looking to recruit for the position of Press Operative. The successful applicant will be based at our client's production facility in Birmingham city centre.
The Role
Reporting to the section leader as part of the Fabrication team, your responsibilities will be to be a CNC break press Setter Operator programmer, Baykal break press using delem software, CNC punch press Setter Operator, using a parma 1212 to have experience in setting and operating punch presses.
Technical Duties
Measure and examine completed work to verify conformance to specifications.
All tasks are to be completed in the agreed (quoted) time frames or better.
Operation of manual machine tools when required.
Machines to be kept in a tidy and well-maintained manner, which would require maintenance be undertaken from time to time.
Share industry knowledge/train.
Work with the Manager to ensure adequate stock levels are maintained.
Maintains tools, gauges, and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
Display flexibility to work in other departments and overtime as necessary to assist the company in meeting production goals.
Liaise with design team and give input into new designs.
Complete administrate tasks as required.
Work from drawing without supervision.
Report drawing errors.
COMPETENCIES
Proven knowledge and experience of Industrial Fabrication.
Minimum 5 years Industry exposure.
Knowledge of metal finishing techniques.
Ability to read and interpret detailed engineering drawings and work instructions.
CNC break press Setter Operator programmer,
Baykal break press using delem software,
CNC punch press Setter Operator,
Using a parma 1212 to have experience in setting and operating punch presses.
Demonstrated planning skills.
Experience with hand measurement tools. Verniers, Micrometers etc…
Be customer and results focused, have integrity, and be a proven team-player.
Experience of Fanuc software when using the punch

Earlies
a) Monday to Thursday – 06.00 am to 14.30 pm (lunch, 30 minutes unpaid)
b) Friday 06.00am – 11.00am
Holidays
25 Days holiday; a combination of floating days and compulsory factory shutdown over Christmas period.
All bank holidays.
