Job description
Ever consider a career supporting children's education?
Interested in being a beacon of light in a young person's life?
Looking for flexibility, and the opportunity to choose your days off?
Look no further than NEST Education!
At Nest Education, we're currently recruiting for a Primary School Teaching Assistant.
As a Teaching Assistant within a Primary School, you will be responsible for supporting students with everything from reading, writing and research, to being an emotional and physical support figure (at times).
The school is a well-known school in Wigan, with brilliant reviews and a wide range of facilities to support mainstream and SEN students. The Primary School is student and education focused and is looking for someone with a similar mind-set. The staff are wonderful, and very supportive, able to manage behaviour well, whilst also offering a nurturing and caring environment for the students.
With this being a Primary School, some Special Educational Needs may not have been officially confirmed, and there may be students awaiting an official diagnosis, but are requiring the support now. It is important that within a Primary School environment, this is remembered and catered to so that the right support is provided where it is needed.
*SEN experience for this role would be preferred, but you can absolutely apply if you have any Teaching Assistant experience, or similar education related experience, or experience working with children and young people.*
If you feel that you would make a great fit for the role above so far - keep reading below!
You will be supporting a range of classes, from Year 1 to Year 6.
You will work with students who have various levels of SEN (Special Educational Needs).
You will be working 8:30AM to 4PM, Monday to Friday (or part-time to suit your needs/the school's needs)
You will also be required to manage challenging behaviour alongside SEN such as ADHD and mild-Autism.
You will be responsible for working with students 1 to 1 or in small groups as they go through various topics and thought experiments. Ranging from English and Maths, to Drama and Music.
You will also be responsible for tidying the classroom after activities (collecting books, putting chairs and tables straight, handing off any notes, etc...)
You will be helping students with their day to day educational needs.
You will provide a safe environment for the children to learn AND grow
You will work closely with the other TA’s (Teaching Assistants) & Teachers of the school to uphold the standards set
Besides being personally rewarded by encouraging, motivating, supporting and aiding in the achievements of these amazing young individuals, you will also receive the following benefits:
Immediate Start
Weekly Pay
Potential To Go Permanent
Full-Time or Part-Time
Free Parking
Easy Access Location (Great Transport Links)

If you are not successful, or feel like you're looking for a different role within education – get in touch, we will still have something for you!
