An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and compassionate Teacher to join our Specialist Inclusion Unit in Sheffield, working with primary-aged children who require additional support with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties. This full-time position offers the chance to make a real difference in the lives of vulnerable young learners and is available for an immediate start on a fixed-term basis until Christmas 2024, with the possibility of extension.
About Us: Our Specialist Inclusion Unit is committed to providing a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child is valued and supported to reach their full potential. Located in Sheffield, we work closely with primary-aged children who require additional support due to emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties. Our dedicated team of educators is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of our students and empowering them to succeed both academically and personally.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons tailored to meet the specific needs of primary-aged students with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties.
- Provide one-to-one and small group support to help students develop their social and emotional skills, manage their behaviour, and engage positively with learning.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and external agencies to develop and implement personalised support plans for each student, monitoring progress and adjusting interventions as necessary.
- Create a safe and supportive learning environment that promotes inclusion, respect, and understanding.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour incidents, and interventions, ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are kept informed.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in a setting that supports those with emotional, social, and behavioural difficulties.
- Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed practice, and evidence-based strategies for supporting students with additional needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, parents, and external professionals.
- Empathy, resilience, and a commitment to promoting the social, emotional, and academic development of vulnerable learners.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
