LTF Recruitment is seeking an experienced behavior mentor to join their team in the Derby City area. This role involves working with targeted students at a primary school, helping them overcome barriers to learning, setting goals, and contributing to the school's Physical Education delivery. Candidates with backgrounds in sports coaching or youth work are ideal for this role, as it requires motivating and encouraging children to enjoy and progress in their learning.
Main Responsibilities:
- Support children with challenging behavior and barriers to learning.
- Assist students in managing their emotions through sport and physical activity.
- Plan and deliver 1:1 and small group intervention sessions.
- Promote good behavior and support students in following the school's behavior policy.
- Implement long-term plans and strategies to improve both behavior and academic progress.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience:
- At least one year of experience within a school setting.
- Understanding of the PE curriculum in Primary Schools.
- Relevant TA qualification.
- Confidence and calmness in dealing with challenging behaviors.
- Experience in handling challenging behavior.
- Experience working with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).
