Primary Student Counsellor - North Manchester

Smile education are currently seeking a Primary Counsellor who is eager to work within a successful primary school in North Manchester.

The Primary Counsellor Assistant role involves supporting groups of children with additional needs such as ASD, PMLD, MLD and Social, emotional and mental health needs. You will be required to work within group and 1:1 setting with a range of ages and levels of learning.

What you will need for the role:

• ASC SEN experience.
• Able and willing to travel to the area.
• A passion for teaching/supporting.
• Good approach to behaviour management
• Works well independently and as part of a team.
• A full enhanced DBS, which can be processed through Smile Education.
• Valid right to work in the UK.

What the role will involve:

• Help support a range of lessons designed to stimulate and motivate pupils’ learning.
• Working within a primary environment with students with PMLD.
• Facilitate a creative and supportive learning environment.
• Prepare differentiated lesson plans that accommodate all children.
