Role Overview:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Primary SEMH Teacher to join our team.
The successful candidate will have a passion for supporting children with SEMH needs, be creative in their approach to teaching, and committed to promoting positive behaviour and emotional well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

• Plan and deliver engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs and abilities of children with SEMH needs.


• Create a supportive and nurturing classroom environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to participate actively in their learning.


• Provide targeted support and interventions to children to help them develop social and emotional skills, self-regulation strategies, and resilience.


• Work closely with the SENCO and other staff members to develop and implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour support plans (BSPs) for children with SEMH needs.


• Collaborate with parents/carers and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to supporting the well-being and development of children with SEMH needs.


• Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback to parents/carers and colleagues as required.

Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and experience teaching in a primary school setting.


• Experience working with children with social, emotional, and mental health needs, preferably in a primary school or similar setting.


• A genuine passion for supporting the well-being and academic development of children with SEMH needs.


• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, parents/carers, and colleagues.


• Patience, empathy, and resilience when working with children who may display challenging behaviour.


• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
