Newcastle has gained global recognition for its innovative approaches to tackling the climate crisis while also investing in a thriving green economy across the city. The city council declared a climate emergency in 2019 and achieving net zero is one of the administration’s three strategic priorities. As our principal adviser you will work closely with the Cabinet Member for Connected, Clean City to shape the council’s strategy for net zero, to enable and drive its delivery, and to work with partners in the city and beyond to keep Newcastle at the forefront of best practice.
