Principal / Associate Planner - (Oxford)

Osborne Richardson is delighted to be working with one of the leading planning consultancies in the country. The company is involved in a wide range of projects from medium scale to large-scale residential, mixed-use and commercial schemes. Our client is looking for a driven Principal / Associate Planner to play a key role in driving the Oxford team forward. 

Key responsibilities of the role include:

• Providing commercial and specific planning advice
• Manage engagement with the local planning authority and other stakeholders
• Project managing a broad mix of planning submissions and appeals
• Working with a wide range of clients, managing expectations and adhering to time limits
• Maintaining a good understanding of policies relating to residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes, as well as environmental statements
• Participate in public inquiries
• Mentor junior colleagues

It is essential that candidates have:

• MRTPI qualification
• A passion for planning
• Numerous years experience in a planning consultancy
• Proven planning experience in the private-sector
• Good professional writing skills
• Ability to present reasoned advice in formal and informal environments
• Experience in preparing, submitting and negotiating a range of planning applications
• Ability to manage workload, budgets and project co-ordination (with sub-consultants)
• Enthusiasm, thoroughness, honesty and commitment
