Principal Carbon Consultant

The client is an international company with a culture of progression and is seeking a knowledgeable and enthusiastic and experienced Associate / Principal level consultant with strong experience, knowledge and expertise in carbon management to join their sustainability and carbon team.
The client provides a range of sustainability, low carbon, and renewable energy services to large private and public sector clients in the UK.
This is a full-time position located in their London offices with a flexible working policy, which may include travel to clients' offices/ sites throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities:

• Line management of a skilled team, providing support and growth.
• Provide technical direction and leadership across a portfolio of projects regarding the whole life carbon, covering a potentially wide range of sectors (e.g. energy, transport, water, waste).
• Lead in the development of carbon management and PAS 2080 for clients.
• Lead business development, market research, bid preparation and work winning in the above areas.

Requirements:

• The successful candidate will be educated to a degree level in a sustainability / environment or engineering related discipline and will have achieved chartered status and / or full or Associate membership of a recognised relevant professional body.
• You will possess strong sustainability/carbon related expertise, a wide range of skill sets and a willingness to become involved in a broad selection of projects.
• Strong analytical and strategic, holistic thinking skills & ability to engage and enthuse staff and clients & skilled at collaborative working with a range of technical specialists at different levels.
• Experience of UK sustainability and environmental regulations, guidance and standards.
• Knowledge of international regulatory frameworks, guidance and standards would be an advantage.
• An excellent verbal communicator with the ability to present with confidence to a wide range of audiences and communicate technical concepts simply and clearly & excellent writing skills - clarity in technical writing is key. Able to adapt the writing style to produce documents for different types of audience, including non-specialists.
• Must have 5 years and above of relevant UK Consultancy experience
