NHS Talking Therapies Mersey Care is an NHS service is made up of several Talking Therapies teamslocated across Merseyside. We provide therapy for those aged over 16yrs who experience anxiety and depression. We offer a variety of psychological therapies to our Mersey Carecommunity:our therapiesare diverse, and evidence based, ranging from guided self-help, digital therapies, group interventions, face to face or video therapy to workshop courses.All our psychological therapies areevidence based including CBT, IPT, CfD, EMDR and DIT to meet the individual needs of our service users.
TheMersey Care Talking Therapies Service is undergoing transformation and expansion and to achieve this we want to increase Clinical Leadership. This is an exciting time for NHSMersey CareTalking Therapies and the post holders will have significant opportunity for service development to ensure the quality of our therapeutic offerin partnership with our system colleagues.

We welcome applications from candidates working at band 8a level who are keen to develop and would consider acceptance of the role on the basis of Agenda for Change Annex 21 with an amended starting salary - 65% of top of band 8b and a 2-3 year development programme.
The post holder will join a supportive and friendly Clinical Leadership Team, made up of a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, a Principal Clinical Psychologist, and a team of lead clinicians from various therapeutic backgrounds. The Clinical Leads/Lead Clinicians from each place-based team work together to ensure equity of offer across the Trust.
The Clinical Lead / Principal Clinical Psychologist will link in with the wider Senior Leadership Team for the service, including close liaison with the Operational Manager; Clinical Service Manager; as well as Team Managers/Leads.

• Ensure the systematic provision of a high-quality specialist clinical psychology service to NHS Talking Therapies (Improving Access to Psychological Therapies: IAPT) service users, across community primary care settings.
• Advise, supervise, and support the assessment and treatment provided by clinical members of the teams who provide psychologically based care and treatment within the service.
• Work autonomously within professional guidelines and exercise responsibility for the systematic governance of psychological practice within the service.
• Utilize research skills for audit, policy and service development and research.
• Propose and lead on the implementation of service developments.
• Work in an effective partnership with the clinical service leadership including other Talking Therapies team members and members of other agencies responsible for a client’s care.
