Principal Commercial And Contracts Lawyer X2

We wish to recruit two Principal Commercial and Contracts Lawyers to our legal team who share our vision and wish to join our diverse workforce.

The ideal candidates will have experience of undertaking specialist legal work within a local authority or wider public sector on all legal matters in relation to contracts and procurement. You will have experience advising on complex multi-million-pound procurements and contract activities including but not limited to: public health, strategic regeneration and construction projects, subsidy control advice, light touch (schedule 3 of PCRs), IT and adults, children, and education matters.

You will work with our legal services senior leadership team in delivering the business objectives of the directorate and the Council including contributing to long term planning to meet the Council’s corporate objectives.

You will be a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (FCILEx) with at least five years’ post qualification experience. This role is ideal for an experienced practitioner who can demonstrate the ability to deal with a demanding caseload, possess excellent client care skills, and an eagerness to provide a high-quality service to our clients.

You will also bring existing management experience and supervise the work of members of staff. We want to ensure that our employees can thrive and are supported in their roles. You will be responsible for providing support and expertise to the team and the cases they handle, guidance and direction in helping to ensure high quality advice is given. You should be able to prioritise and make decisions under pressure whilst thinking clearly to ensure successful outcomes.

The successful candidate will gain considerable exposure to a varied workload with a high level of responsibility and extensive client contact.

37 hours per week
