Principal Design Engineer

Astute’s Renewables team is exclusively partnering with a UK wide ICP and EV charging installer, specialising in LV & HV design and implementations projects to recruit a Principal Design Engineer in a remote, site-based role.

The Senior Project Manager role comes with a salary of up to �75,000, private healthcare, life assurance and a 5% matched pension.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Commercial Manager you will:

* Producing designs and planning electrical distribution networks up to 132kv.
* Produce specifications for turnkey projects to be tendered with associated technical appraisals of returned tenders with specifications for associated equipment.
* Conduct pre-construction risk assessments and impact studies.
* Providing design support feasibility studies and design in collaboration with the commercial team.
* Liaising with DNO contacts to review designs, approvals and compliant elements.
* Produce schematic diagrams including key diagrams, cable layouts, wiring diagrams, and cable calculations.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

* Engineering Degree or equivalent C&G, NVQ, HNC, etc.
* Working towards chartership (IEng, EngTech)

Personal skills

The Principal Design Engineer would suit someone who is:

* Experience creating electrical designs at 33kv
* Working in association with DNO/IDNO
* Software skills including AutoCAD, Windebut, and Trimble.
