We're looking for a Principal Designer to join our Anglian Water team based in Norwich
Location: Working across the Norfolk and Lincolnshire areas, the role can be based in either regions to suit, with hybrid working and company car/ cash allowance provided
Contract: Permanent, full time
What will you be responsible for?
As a Principal Designer, you'll be working within the Anglian Water team, supporting them in providing support to our engineering teams and liaising between the design and delivery teams to ensure that designs are carried out in line with Construction Design Management (CDM) regulations, water industry standards and with consideration to cost efficient solutions.
You will need to be able to understand operations in any part of the water and water recycling sectors asset base and be able to collaborate to clearly communicate a workable outcome for others to construct.
Your day to day will include:
Research and discover problems, develop insight and then provide focused definition Take account of any pre-construction information, eliminate foreseeable health & safety risks to anyone affected by the project and take steps to reduce or control any risks that cannot be eliminated Always applying sound engineering judgement, you'll aim to drive and implement innovative ways of working as your provide and modify design for construction teams, contractors and the client
What are we looking for?
This role of Principal Designer is great for you if you hold:
A Degree in relevant technical field and membership of relevant professional body Experience as a Designer in the construction/ water industry including civil, electrical and mechanical engineering works A full driving licence We're all about finding potential here at Kier, and transferrable skills are always welcome!
