Form of workAn industry leading defence organisation are searching for a Principal Digital Hardware Engineer with a strong background in high-speed digital electronics hardware based in Scotland. You will have expert knowledge of the integration of hardware, firmware and software on FPGA and microprocessor based PCBA’s.

Commutable from: Edinburgh, Dunbar, Livingstone, Falkirk
The role of Principal Digital Hardware Engineer:
- To create high quality digital electronic designs.
- To create documentation and record deliverables
- To support integration and verification activities at hardware and system level
- To ensure that designs remain under configuration control.
- To provide up to date progress reports
- To provide guidance on high-speed digital designs.
The Person:
- Degree qualified or equivalent in Electronics Engineering or another STEM-based subject
- At least 5 years of experience within high-speed digital electronics design using the latest FPGA and/or microprocessor devices and high-speed interconnect technologies.
- Proficient in schematic capture using Mentor Graphics DxDesigner or similar tools.
- Hands on experience of PCB layout
- Hands on experience of integrating hardware, firmware and software on FPGA and microprocessor based PCBA’s.
- Experience in RTCA DO-254
- Current valid SC clearance would be advantageous.
