About the Principle Electrical & Controls Design Engineer Role
The Principle Electrical & Controls Design Engineer will provide authority to the delivery of solutions for commercially successful products. You will provide authority for the electrical/electronic and embedded applications design of all products that are manufactured.
Other requirements will include:
- Monitor, guide and mentor apprentices, technicians and engineers to assist in the delivery of electrical/electronic and embedded applications designs
- Ensure that defined “minimum requirements” and “appropriate practices” for electrical/electronic and embedded applications design processes/standards to ensure design is integrated, lean, effective, works collaboratively with all disciplines and has the highest probability of right 1st time
- Provide support at bid and concept development stage to ensure mechanical design challenges and risks are understood and accounted for
- As part of the management team of the Design function, champion, guide and develop the department’s continuous improvement, outputs, interactions and growth
About You
As Principal Electrical & Controls Design Engineer, you will be a Chartered Engineer, (or actively working towards this) with demonstrable experience in leading and delivering a range of electrical/electronic/embedded applications products/systems/solutions in a position of authority.
Other requirements include:
- Significant and demonstrable experience of operating in a diverse range of industries/sectors
- A natural engineer
- Flexible, adaptable and agile in approach
- Excellent commercial awareness
- The ability to deliver a multitude of tasks across a broad range of timescales.
- Strong technical leadership skills
