Job description

Closing Date: Wednesday 14 February 2024 The Faculty of Social and Life Sciences is a thriving teaching and research environment looking to build its undergraduate and postgraduate student population. North Wales Business School (NWBS) forms a key part of the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences. The department delivers a range of high-quality business programmes. Holding a degree in Business equips students well for the world of work, whether this be employment within a commercial, charitable, or public sector organisation or indeed in self-employment. The postholder should have extensive previous experience of working within HE. The role will report to the Associate Dean of Business and be responsible for delivering a wide range of programmes within NWBS and the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences as appropriate. The postholder will support the area achieve AMBA accreditation. The postholder will be responsible for contributing to the development of contemporary business programs and modules at WBS, working collaboratively, flexibly and collegially within a team and will demonstrate innovation through the design of the curriculum informed by research and relationships with external partners from relevant sectors.  The post holder will hold, or be working towards, a Doctoral level qualification, hold professional membership / accreditation where relevant and be committed to further professional and academic development in order to continually improve the curriculum offer. A teaching qualification relevant to Higher Education will be held, or commitment to achieving one will be required. The post holder will be required where appropriate to supervise doctoral students and support the research profile of North Wales Business school. The commitment to developing and mentoring innovative teaching practice such as online and blended approaches to learning and engaging with transnational education opportunities is required.  The ability to speak Welsh and offer academic and pastoral support through the medium of Welsh as well as marking and providing feedback in Welsh would be highly valuable.
