Principal Marine Engineer (Seamanship)

Salary: Up to GBP55,000
Our client, a market leader in delivering cutting-edge technology driven Defence, aerospace, and security solutions, is seeking a Principal Engineer to become a valuable member of the Seamanship team in design.
The ideal candidate will come from a Marine Engineering/Naval Architect background.
You will manage the CSC Project Seamanship Team, leading and managing the technical work and engineering aspects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery and integration of seamanship systems within the CSC program.
- Develop procurement pack documentation, including technical equipment specifications.
- Generate seamanship engineering deliverables.
- Manage seamanship domain changes, including the preparation of Problem Reports and Change Requests, presenting to the Enterprise Change Board, and implementing approved changes.
- Maintain close communication with customers regarding technical issues requiring their approval and acceptance.
- Attend Project Assurance Reviews and associated Feeder Reviews.
- Take responsibility for seamanship requirements and progressive acceptance activities.
- Provide seamanship domain hazards, prepare, and approve safety assessments and documents, and participate in product safety working groups and hazard review working group meetings.
- Create Layout Drawings, key plans, and schedules, and update the Windchill Product Lifecycle model.
Requirements:
- Experience with Marine Engineering principles and practices.
- Comprehensive understanding of various engineering disciplines, standards, and codes of practice applicable to the maritime industry.
- Proficient knowledge of the maritime design, manufacturing, assembly, commissioning, integration, and testing lifecycle and associated processes.
- Skilled in addressing challenges within multi-disciplinary engineering teams and reconciling conflicting requirements.
- Seagoing experience utilising Seamanship systems is advantageous.
- STEM subjects and professional qualifications, OR Time served Marine Engineer.
