Join Our Team as Principal Material Technologist
Are you ready to shape the future of product development and design innovation? We're expanding our dynamic Brand & Design Team and introducing an exciting opportunity for a skilled Principal Material Technologist. In this pivotal role, you'll be at the forefront of our Colour, Material, and Finish (CMF) strategy, contributing to a broad spectrum of professional and consumer products.

The scope of the position
  • As a Principal Material Technologist, you'll play a crucial role in steering our CMF ambitions and ensuring seamless execution across diverse product ranges. Here's what you'll be leading:
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (ID, CMF, Sustainability, Product Management, R&D, Operations, and Sourcing) and external partners to drive the CMF strategy.
  • Oversee the implementation of the CMF strategy in new product development, ensuring alignment with global standards.
  • Develop and enforce a robust colour approval process, global colour/material catalogue, and quality control procedures.
  • Foster information sharing between R&D centers and contribute to the development of global processes for consistent CMF execution across manufacturing sites worldwide.
  • Standardize colour and material needs, promoting the use of sustainable and cost-effective materials.
  • Act as a global colour/material expert, providing leadership in local development.
  • Lead and validate colour/material developments, maintaining a meticulous archive of data.
  • Work closely with R&D Material Technologists, particularly in roto, injection, coating, and metal processes.
Key Skillset:
  • Extensive expertise in materials and manufacturing processes.
  • Proven project management skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of plastic materials and coating technology.
  • Familiarity with various manufacturing processes, including roto moulding, injection moulding, and surface finishes.
  • Strategic thinker with a focus on sustainable material and process solutions.
  • Experience collaborating with industrial designers, especially in colour and surface-related topics.
  • Passionate about global business and adept at connecting multidisciplinary teams.
  • Willingness to travel extensively to coordinate with global R&D sites and networks.
