Principal Neighbourhood and Design Officer 
Salary-HC10 range £43,421 - £47,470
Permanent
37 hours per week

 

We are seeking well motivated and enthusiastic individuals to support us in driving the service forward.  These are exciting opportunities to help shape our service delivery matched with opportunities for your future development.  You will play a key role in delivering our aspirations and vision by driving high standards of professional advice, working collectively with our transportation , economy and environment colleagues as well as communicating at all levels across the council and with our communities.

For the Strategic Planning and Neighbourhood Manager and the Principal Neighbourhood and Design officer roles you will need be a chartered member of the Royal Town Planning Institute, for our Building Control Manager role you will need to be a qualified building or structural engineer. For other roles you should demonstrate a commitment to planning and continuing professional development and will have/or are progressing towards a degree or equivalent in a planning discipline and/or have related experience.

Experience of local/central government agency working whilst beneficial is not an essential.  We are looking for positive individuals with a commitment to learning and partnership working with a public service ethos.  We will help you develop your career with us, you will be supported with technical and professional engagement with a network of diverse stakeholder interests across a wide range of planning, growth and place service matters.

You will be a lead officer in the spatial policy team for neighbourhood planning and Design policy, supporting the strategic planning manager you will  play a key role in delivering of our rural settlement strategy, working with our parishes on the co-ordination of neighbourhood planning and Design advice through the county. You will lead project teams and programmes within the service area and work closely across the directorate and wider council.
