Principal Pipeline Engineer

Job description:

Our client, a top-level contractor, due to growth the position of Principal Pipeline Engineer has become available to join their vibrant team. This is a hybrid role with 2/3 days based at the Manchester or Aberdeen office with the option for dynamic working.  

The pipeline design and engineering consultancy team describes the function consisting of the non-standard disciplines including pipelines, subsea, materials and related ad hoc consultancy specialists.  

Our client is growing their energy sector engineering team for UK projects in the energy transition and conventional oil & gas fields and are seeking candidates for this discipline leadership position to manage and grow the existing team and provide technical leadership to the function.  

The Discipline Manager reports to the Director of Engineering and is responsible for functional and line management of the discipline and the delivery of engineering design on projects through its people, processes, and systems.  

The role comprises a mix of technical expert, study management responsibilities and technical business development in support of client's leading edge strategy for the pipeline design and engineering consultancy team (consisting of the non-standard disciplines including onshore & offshore pipelines, subsea, materials and related ad hoc consultancy specialists).

Requirements:

• HNC/HND or degree in engineering & preferably chartered.  

• 10 years’ experience in technical delivery and management.  

• Experienced in pipelines and technical specialist with significant knowledge of the oil and gas industry.  

• Application of relevant regulatory codes & standards e.g. (PD8010,TDI, including pipeline routing and mechanical design.  

• Preparation of pipeline related specifications and data sheets. Specification of methods of pipeline crossing detail.
