The opportunity
Due to an increase in workload we are looking for a well experienced Process Engineer to support a nuclear licensed process plant in the north west. This role will be a minimum of 6 months in duration with a high likelihood of continuation. You will be focused on delivery of process equipment designs delivering expertise in heat exchangers, mixing vessels and reactors etc.
The Role
As a Principal Process Engineer, you will perform the role of process lead on a project in the nuclear sector.
Your duties and responsibilities will be
- Produce Process Engineering design deliverables (including PFDs, P&IDs, heat and mass balance calculations, datasheets, specifications, schedules, calculations)
- Contribute to safety reviews and other risk assessments.
- Checking of process deliverables to ensure engineering designs meet appropriate quality and compliance controls, project brief and customer requirements.
- Reviewing vendor quotations and liaising with equipment and package vendors
- Utility system specification, design, and capacity evaluation
- Checking of piping design documents, including checking isometrics and layout drawings
- Assist in plant layout development
- Collaborate closely with multi-disciplinary members of the design team to deliver safe, efficient, and buildable solutions
You will have the following qualifications & experience
- Degree in Chemical Engineering
- Experience in the nuclear fuel handling sector
- Have experience in coordinating multi-disciplinary design teams
- Currently hold Security Clearance or eligible to pass criteria for Security Clearance.
- Chartered Engineer Status.
