Principal Scientist, Protein Engineering and Genome expansion
POSITION TITLE: Principal Scientist
DEPARTMENT: Research & Development
LOCATION: Cambridge, On-site.
Brief Description:
The Principal Scientist will define and lead the experimental efforts of the R&D team using the biotech's established technology to reprogram proteins for the development of new biologics.
You will oversee and design experiments translating proteins and recoding genomes.
Specific Job Duties:
- Aid in biologically synthesising peptides.
- Design new methods with genetic code expansion in mind.
- Lead the R&D team members
- Core protein engineering/ translation
Desired Skills and Qualifications:
Academic/Major:
- A degree in Synthetic Biology, Protein Engineering or Genomics + PhD in related disciplines.
- 5+ years in biotech/industry experience.
Professional Skills:
- Experience leading/ line managing 2+ team members.
- Analysis of genome expansion.
- Experience with amino acids.
- Ability to use techniques such as chimeragenesis, site-specific mutagenesis and de novo protein engineering.
- Experience with IND applications
