Principal Site Reliability Engineer

Location: Hybrid (1 day a month onsite in Dublin)

Contract: 12-month rolling contract

Iconic Irish brand has been on an exciting transformational journey with their technology. As they transition from a centralised group infrastructure function, they are building resilience in their technical environment, enhancing performance, and ensuring stability.

They are seeking a seasoned Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to lead their team (6 engineers). This is a greenfield opportunity to shape the future of their Cloud Operation landscape.

Role Overview:

As their Principal SRE, you will be a pivotal player in managing and improving their technical operations. You will:

- Develop and implement robust monitoring and alerting systems.

- Enhance performance and stability of their infrastructure.

- Lead incident management and response efforts.

- Create and manage SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs.

- Collaborate with specialised teams in SecOps, FinOps, and NetOps.

- Report directly to the Head of Cloud Operations.

Key Responsibilities:

- Steer the transition of their infrastructure, improving resilience and reliability.

- Develop and maintain monitoring and alerting mechanisms.

- Lead incident management with a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- Implement continuous integration (CI) and continuous delivery (CD) best practices.

- Define and track service level objectives (SLOs), indicators (SLIs), and agreements (SLAs).

- Provide strong technical leadership and direction.

Requirements:

- Extensive experience in Site Reliability Engineering, particularly in complex business and technical environments.

- Proven track record of managing and improving technical operations.

- Strong expertise in AWS, their primary cloud environment.

- Excellent incident management skills.

- Familiarity with CI/CD processes and tools.

- Ability to create and manage SLOs, SLIs, and SLAs.

- Experience working with SecOps, FinOps, NetOps, and other operational teams.

- Proven scars and t-shirts from leading SRE initiatives.
