Job description

Job Description: Principal Consultant

About this role:

This role sits within the Real Estate sector of a business which works with market leaders in commercial real estate to develop innovative global zero carbon strategies. Their clients are building owners, real estate investors and developers and the services are shaped to help them transition to a net zero economy.

The service acts on clients’ net zero strategic aspirations, breaking them down into implementable carbon/energy action plans and projects. You will work directly with clients to turn their aims into a reality through site audits, monitoring and proposing short-term data solutions to optimise efficiency.

As Principal Consultant, your purpose is to lead the technical delivery of complex energy management and building optimisation projects to the business’s clients. By engaging with a wide range of key stakeholders on a day-to-day basis, you play a key role in managing sustainability risks and realising opportunities.

  • The assessment of readiness of organisations to deliver sustainable savings.
  • Working with real estate clients to identify and prioritise the most cost-effective opportunities,
  • including technological, behavioural and process optimisation initiatives.
  • Building compelling business cases for achieving staged and pragmatic energy and cost reduction.
  • Delivery of services/opportunities, with a guaranteed outcome and savings verified.

You also act as a mentor - and possible line manager - to other members of the team and there are opportunities to work on other projects within the wider Real Estate and Corporates teams, to develop and share your knowledge.

Client management: You ensure strong relationships with existing clients with the expectation of maintaining and, where possible, increasing revenues from key accounts. You build lasting relationships with new clients in order to win further work including from cross-selling the full range of services.

Operational: You provide timely responses to operational needs including (but not limited to) invoicing, reviews, project management information, time-sheeting, health & safety, etc. As a senior team member there will also be an expectation to share knowledge to support the development of junior team members.
