Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Principal Systems Engineer to join, long long-standing, privately owned electronics manufacturer in Hampshire. This role offers a significant amount of remote working.
As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will play a crucial role in collaborating with the systems team to define and advise on methods and approaches for translating system definitions into detailed design specifications. Your expertise in system architectural design, modelling, simulation, systems analysis, testing, statistical analysis, and reliability engineering will be key to guiding product manufacturing and deployment processes.
Responsibilities:
- Collaboration with Systems Team:
- Oversee and work closely with the systems team to define suitable methods and approaches for transforming system definitions into detailed design specifications.
- Provide guidance and expertise in system architectural design to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the overall process.
- Apply relevant experience in system definition, modelling, and simulation to contribute to the development of comprehensive system design specifications.
- Utilise advanced modelling techniques to enhance the accuracy and completeness of system representations.
- Conduct thorough systems analysis to identify potential challenges and opportunities for improvement in the design and deployment phases.
- Design and implement system testing strategies to ensure the reliability and functionality of the developed systems.
- Apply statistical analysis methods to evaluate system performance and identify areas for optimisation.
- Utilise reliability engineering principles to enhance the robustness and longevity of the deployed systems.
- Select and impart appropriate levels of documentation and model representation to maintain consistency within the organisation.
- Ensure that documentation aligns with industry standards and best practices.
- Bachelor s or Master s degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Science).
- Proven experience in system architectural design, modelling and simulation, systems analysis, and reliability engineering.
- Strong understanding of statistical analysis methods and their application in system development.
- Previous experience in guiding teams through the entire product lifecycle, from design to deployment.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Familiarity with industry standards and best practices in system engineering.
