Principal Town Planner

Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting an established, national planning consultancy on the hire of a Principal Town Planner for their team in Hampshire.
Our client is highly regarded in the South and employ Town Planners from a variety of backgrounds to staff their growing and successful teams in the South of England. In this role, you support landowners, landed estates, national and local developers and private individuals.
The work is not confined to one sector or type but covers all areas of town planning, including agriculture, commercial, education, energy, healthcare, heritage, residential, specialist housing and leisure!
You will support your clients through the offering of services such as; Advice, Appraisals, Applications, Community Consultation, Environmental Assessments, Permitted Development and Prior Approvals, Policy and Site Promotion, Appeals, Certificates of Lawfulness, Enforcement, Heritage and Conservation, Planning Obligations, Representations and Objections. At Principal Planner level you will also prepare written fee proposals, supporting the practice from a BD perspective and provide support and guidance to junior team members.
Job Requirements
In order to apply for this role you will hold a planning degree (or similar) with previous planning experience at Senior, Principal or Associate Planner level (public or private sector). You will hold MRTPI (or be working towards it) and be a confident communicator. Able to demonstrate a clear passion for planning you will be a team player with the ability to also work on your own initiative.
