Job Title: Principle Civil & Structural Engineer

Location: Hull | Hybrid 3:2

Salary: £65,000 - £72,000

The Civil and Structural Principal Engineer holds a pivotal role within our client's organisation, reporting directly to the Civil and Structural Discipline Manager.

This position is instrumental in ensuring the delivery of engineering tasks for minor modifications and projects at the highest standards, in accordance with legal requirements and client specifications. The incumbent will also play a key role in business development, providing consultancy services, and assisting in team management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure full compliance with UK Legislation, Company Rules, and procedural guidelines.
• Contribute actively to the enhancement of procedural frameworks and system updates.
• Provide expert technical guidance across all stages of engineering projects, from specification to commissioning.
• Support Design Assurance for the discipline and offer ongoing technical assistance to projects and the team.
• Oversee the creation, review, and guidance of documentation related to design, installation, and operation of discipline-specific systems.
• Act as the focal point for all discipline-specific technical and managerial issues and decisions in the absence of the Discipline Manager.
• Assume the role of 'Lead Engineer' for designated projects, ensuring adherence to scope of work and budget constraints.
• Make informed decisions involving technical matters, budget considerations, project schedules, and safety protocols with minimal supervision.
• Support business-winning activities including capability presentations, development of execution strategies, and cost estimation for new opportunities.
• Ensure timely and complete delivery of assigned tasks while effectively managing resources within the discipline.
• Assess and maintain competency levels within the discipline, providing inputs to performance reviews and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
• Conduct discipline audits to ensure full compliance with quality procedures and standards.

Qualifications and Skills:

• Degree in Civil Engineering or related field
• Senior / Principal Civil (Structural) Engineer with 5-10 years of experience
• Petrochemicals, chemicals, oil and gas exp preferred etc
• PRE FEED, FEED, EPC phases experience
• SHE systems, quality systems experience
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Proficiency in project management tools and software.
