Private Male English Language and Literature Teacher/Tutor – Saudi Arabia
A qualified and experienced male English specialist is needed for a high profile family in Saudi Arabia. The children are already fluent in English and attend an English speaking international school, so TEFL/EAL skills are not required.
The job is normally based in Riyadh, but with travel required mainly within Saudi. Working as part of a small team of specialist subject teachers, the role is comprised of a mix of some full-time teaching and some after-school teaching, depending on the travel and school schedules. This role reports to the Curriculum Coordinator and requires working as part of a team of Private Teachers, and interfacing with school normally attended by the children to cater to their academic needs.
- Children’s profile: Primary to KS 3/4
- Curriculum: Cambridge (UK), adapted to include progressive and project-based learning
- Hours/days –48 hrs per week, including contact and prep time.
- Travel: periodic travel within Saudi Arabia is required.
Salary and Package:
- 18,000-20,000 Saudi Riyals per month (appx US$4800-5300), tax free
- Degree in English Literature plus teacher training (PGCE)

Requirements:
- Experience teaching English Literature and Language (NOT EAL/TEFL/ESOL) to GCSE or equivalent
- Completely fluent in English (Native level English speaker or equivalent)
- Qualified/certified teacher of Secondary (High School) English Language and Literature ideally to grade 10, GCSE, Junior Cert etc.
- Due to significant travel and flexible working hours required, this role is not suited to teachers with a spouse or family to accompany them.
- Minimum of 2 years of High School/Secondary School English teaching experience
- Culturally sensitive, professional approach, very flexible and adaptable, both personally and professionally Experienced in one of the following curricula:
- Cambridge, UK, US, IB, Australia, New Zealand, Canada or another progressive, project-based, high-quality curriculum
