Probate Researcher/Genealogy Researcher – Suffolk – To £27,000 pa
We have been asked by a leading Genealogy company to identify an outstanding Probate and Genealogy Researcher.
The role:
As a Probate Researcher/Genealogy Researcher, you will be responsible for conducting in-depth research to identify and locate heirs, beneficiaries, and relevant family members in the context of probate cases or genealogical investigations. This role requires a combination of investigative skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of legal and genealogical principles.
Key Responsibilities:
• Investigate and analyse probate cases to determine rightful heirs and beneficiaries.
• Examine legal documents, such as wills, estate records, and court filings, to gather information.
• Verify and document relationships between deceased individuals and potential heirs.
Genealogical Research:
• Conduct thorough genealogical research to trace family histories and relationships.
• Utilize various sources, including online databases, archives, and historical records.
• Build and maintain comprehensive family trees to establish connections.
• Document Analysis:
• Review and interpret legal documents, contracts, and historical records.
• Extract relevant information to establish family connections and inheritance rights.
• Maintain accurate and organized documentation of research findings.
• Communicate effectively with legal professionals, clients, and other stakeholders.
• Provide clear and concise reports detailing research results and findings.
• Collaborate with legal teams to ensure accurate and relevant information is obtained.
• Problem Solving:
• Address challenges related to missing or incomplete information in the research process.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience in probate or genealogical research is preferred.
• Familiarity with legal documents and terminology.
• Proficient in using genealogical research tools, databases, and archives.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
Rewards:
The role has a generous base salary to £27,000 per annum.
