A motivated Process Engineer is required for our market leading top tier COMAH site engineering client. The purpose of this chemical Process Engineer role is to provide technical support, coordinate and improve the maintenance of the energy sites processing systems, efficiently and safely to UK standards and design new process and mechanical systems including the development of hydrogen processing systems. My client has significant investment and is passionately working towards achieving a neutral carbon balance through alternative energy production. This exciting process engineer role would suit a engineer with a flexible attitude who is looking for a long term stable and rewarding career and the opportunity for development of the introduction of hydrogen and other low carbon renewable income streams to the company. The ideal process engineer will have the following skills and experiences;

  • Good process engineering, process design engineering, chemical electrical engineering experience, process machinery plant design experience, energy engineering experience
  • A background in hydrocarbon operations and development would be desirable
  • Hands on onsite experience, UK plant operational experience-you must have good experience in conceptual, FEED and detailed design projects
  • Degree level engineering qualifications in process Design, Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar field and working towards chartership
  • UK process engineering experience and good understanding of UK regulations, legal requirements
  • Process design, process engineering experience within the chemical, oil and gas, petrochemical, COMAH sites, energy, high risk pressure valves industries or similar
  • Good CAD experience, ability to read, interpret and update engineering drawings
  • Good experience of HAZOPS,
  • Experienced process engineers with hydrogen, hydrogen processing, Hydrogen process technology and hydrogen engineering experience would be of distinct interest
  • Full driving licence and able and willing to travel to plant site daily- this is not a remote role so you must be based a commutable distance. Unfortunately my client cannot offer sponsorship for visas work permits.

Some key responsibilities of this Process Engineer role include;

  • Ensuring the safety systems and process control systems- making sure they operate efficiently and safely at the site
  • Ensuring maintenance of the sites process systems including surface, subsurface and utilities, assessing processes and interpreting data to facilitate the safe, efficient, and cost-effective operation of the asset.
  • Ensuring successful delivery of high-quality engineering works on budget to time, and meeting quality standards and customer satisfaction
  • Reviewing and monitoring maintenance scheduling and analytics and practice, the capability and probability performance forecasts
  • Monitor plant trends for debottlenecking and troubleshooting, commission and shutdowns
  • Conduct safety and Hazard reviews, generate work scopes and estimates for new projects and investment
