Job Title:Process Chemist (permanent)

Location: Cambridge

Salary: 30k - 32k p/annum

Reed Scientific are recruiting for a Process Chemist, on a full time basis, to join a growing company who are developing clean and sustainable technologies in the recycling industry.

The Process Chemist will be responsible for running a chemical process and supervising a chemical processing team.

Responsibilities in the role:

Responsibility for the chemical process which will include sample intake, material tracking, maintenance of equipment, carrying out experiments and following health and safety protocols.

• Maintaining a clean working environment and working to health and safety standards, maintaining process equipment and conducting safety inspections of all equipment.
• Inputting information onto shared documents for tracking.
• Be available to assist colleagues across departments.
• Assist the Operations and Facilities manager direct other production staff.
• Assist with the preparation of sample material.

Qualifications and experience required:

• A degree in Chemistry (or a related scientific discipline) with experience of working within a chemical process environment
• IT proficiency
• Good communication skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Ability to work alone or as part of a team

The successful candidate will join a friendly team, where you will lead the Chemical process team and mentor individuals with less experience.
