Vacancy: Process Development Chemist
Location: Stockton on Tees
Job Family: Science
As the Process Development Chemist, you will be responsible for generating and evaluating high quality experimental data for the development of complex process operations.
This role requires an individual possessing strong practical skills, with an ability to communicate and work effectively in a flexible R+D environment.
You will be expected to build proficiency in a range of techniques and to develop knowledge across a range of products and technologies.
Once established you will be involved with commissioning of overseas sites with a typical project timeline of 4-12 weeks. This role will also require you to be involved with adhoc shifts on a 12-hour basis as when business needs arise.

Your responsibilities:
  • Ensures compliance to EHS and standards and actively identifies opportunities for improvements.
  • Generates safety documentation related to their work.
  • Applies practical experience and technical proficiency in R&D methodology, analytical proficiency and scale up capability to progress work programs.
  • Critically review data and use analysis to spot trends.
  • Prepares reports on work undertaken and communicates/ presents technical summaries to senior colleagues.
  • Actively looks to build proficiency in a broad range of R&D techniques.
  • Operates as the responsible person for labs/rigs instruments to site standards.
Requirements for the role:
  • Minimum of an undergraduate degree in chemistry or predominantly chemistry based - Essential.
  • Ability to communicate technical information effectively - Essential.
