Are you an experienced process engineer? Our Advanced Innovation team research and evaluate new technologies that could be applicable to the food & drink industry. No day will be the same!
You will be providing technical inputs in both our novel processing work and our process modelling services. The main purpose of the job is to develop new services which contribute to contract and research services.
You will:
- Secure and deliver new technologies for services the business can sell. This includes setting up and executing trials and training to understand the technology and refine the market opportunity
- Support with the development and delivery of the innovation pipeline which can secure future services for the business. Secure and deliver opportunities for the business in food factories, engineering, and modelling related services
- Apply for and manage successful government tender projects
- Support on insights gathering and communication back to the business on opportunities
- Interpretation of results, preparation of reports or presentations internally and externally on technology developments
- Responding to direct technical enquiries using own expertise and information retrieved from relevant sources and support colleagues across the business where engineering or data processing support may be required
Experience required:
- An experienced Engineering graduate
- A background in the application of process engineering principles (or related discipline) to the food industry
- Effective project management skills from recent experience
- Good communication abilities to work with clients and help to articulate good technical solutions to meet their needs
- Effective time management skills relating to effective delivery and business practices
- Skilled at developing new ideas and bringing them to fruition in a friendly but challenging environment
- A solid grounding in the principles of food preservation is essential, previous knowledge of emerging preservation technologies would be an advantage
- A working knowledge of different modelling techniques and some experience with developing models for manufacturing processes would be desirable.
- Full UK/EU driving licence and be eligible to work and travel freely within the EU
