About the role:
Astutes Power Team are support a global Oil & Gas company who own and operate a large crude oil refinery in Northeast Lincolnshire. Joining the team, you’ll be a key player in their net-zero emissions strategy in which they form part of the “Zero Carbon Humber” cluster zone.
As a Unit Process Engineer, you will be primarily involved providing engineering support across the refineries operations including Fractionation, Filtration, Thermal Cracking, Coking, flares, Blowdown & Flare Gas Recovery.
Responsibilities and duties:
As a Process Engineer, you will be responsible for:
* Monitoring units across the refinery ensuring safe, reliable & environmental limits are adhered to.
* Act as the go-to technical expert for all Process Engineering aspects for their respective units.
* Provide technical support in troubleshooting plant & unit issues.
* Performance Process Engineering calculations and develop technical reports.
* Coordinate the management of change safety reviews.
* Support unit turnaround / outage activities including vessel inspections, catalyst changeouts and overseeing unit start-ups.
* Manage the unit Process Engineering HAZOP action items.
* Ensure unit engineering procedures are maintained in line with refinery engineering practices & standards.
* Contributing towards development and identification of new projects and long term engineering plans.
Professional qualifications:
We are looking for someone with the following:
* Minimum 2:1 in a Chemical Engineering degree
* Achieved or is working towards Chartered Engineering Status
* Completed an industrial placement year in a relevant engineering sector
Personal skills:
The Process Engineer role would suit someone who has:
* Able to demonstrate excellent written & verbal communication skills
* At least two years previous work experience in a similar engineering setting such as COMAH, Oil & Gas, Petrochemical etc
