Job description

We have a great opportunity for an experienced industrial Process Engineer with a solid background ideally in mechanical engineering to join our Bristol team. This role will focus on designing, developing and improving innovative processes to deliver our growing range of specialist fasteners to suit customer requirements. For the right candidate, this role potentially could develop to a long-term leadership opportunity.
What does the role involve?
Taking new product from idea generation, concept design to industrialisation and manufacturing, in a robust and timely manner.
Supporting all parts of the new product introduction (NPI) process, including initial feasibility, development review, pre-production, full industrialisation and safe launch.
Proactively seeking out the latest manufacturing and measurement technologies to meet our needs.
Analysing current process lines and implementing activities to maintain and improve OEE.
Building effective relationships to collaborate with our local and global teams and external suppliers.What type of person are we looking for?

You have a degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or a closely related field. Alternatively, you have worked your way up becoming mechanically competent, knowing the theory and more importantly having the ability to put it into practice.
Minimum 3 years of mechanical Process Engineering experience and excellent mechanical ability.
You relish the challenge of taking the technical lead in projects from the concept components all the way to production to deliver a successful outcome (relevant experience of introducing new products would be advantageous).
You are curious about the multi facets of product engineering - you actively enjoy prototyping new processes and measurement methods to prove your design ideas.
You are interested in engaging with our internal teams and customers and understand the importance of finding out their needs and requirements to take new products into production successfully. You can hold your own when things get tough, and you can overcome challenges in a way that creates lasting credible relationships with all stakeholders.
You understand that putting new products into production can be difficult with many challenges on the way. You are the type of person who is tenacious and enjoys problem solving in a systematic and collaborative way.
You understand what is needed to deliver robust production line processes that deliver consistent high quality products.
You have a strong desire to fully understand and improve the processes you are working within using loss intelligence as your guide.Working with Saint-Gobain?
