Now is your chance, as London Gatwick has an exciting opportunity for a Process Improvement Specialist to join us on a 12 month fixed term to cover maternity leave.
Ideally starting in June 2024, the post holder will play a key role in Gatwick's future, leading the development of our Continuous Improvement (CI) strategy across our Capital Delivery programmes to develop and enhance our airport infrastructure and facilities.
The Process Improvement Specialist will be responsible for the identification, development, and execution of Continuous Improvement (CI) initiatives utilising Lean and Six Sigma methods, including performing business assessments, delivering kaizen events, and ensuring sustainment through standard work and procedures.
Principal accountabilities:
  • Design, develop and lead the implementation of a structured CI project life cycle framework across the business. This includes building a local CI culture ensuring consistent and up to date knowledge to support individual and team objectives.
  • Lead the identification and development of CI projects (e.g. kaizen events, point kaizen's, major project teams, etc.) based on evaluating project and financial data and qualitative analysis based on observation and discussion.
  • Lead, design and facilitate CI events as a subject matter expert while empowering project delivery teams to present ideas and create improvements and solutions.
  • Leverage best practices gained through Continuous Improvement activities to other areas which would benefit from implementation.
  • Promote and train use of CI tools and techniques such as SIPOC, VSM, SPC, TIMWOODS
  • Coach, counsel and train project delivery teams to apply, support, sustain and develop a Continuous Improvement culture.

Qualifications and experience:
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent in project management, architecture, science, technology, engineering or mathematics.
  • Qualifications - Lean Six Sigma Certification and experience in implementation and leading kaizen events.
  • Ability to provide decisive leadership and team facilitation in the face of adversity - define tasks clearly, identify and coordinate resources, and execute CI go-forward plans.
  • Strong experience of running workshops and working with external and internal stakeholders, selling ideas to them, and delivering results.
  • High tolerance of ambiguity and a tried track record/certification of Process Management.
  • Strong leadership and influencing skills, with the ability to motivate, coach, facilitate and create opportunities for learning for others.
  • Proven ability to multi-task, work well under pressure, think analytically and communicate effectively at all levels.
  • BPM Certification desirable (AIIM BPM Certificate, Certification from BPMInstitute.org, ABPMP's Certified Business Process Professional (CBPPBA Certification (CBAP/CCBA, BCS BA Certification, PMI-PBA, etc.).
