We are currently recruiting for a Processing Plant Supervisor to join and lead our fantastic ‘Phase 2’ Backshift team at our Mountsorrel Quarry, in Quorn, near to Loughborough in Leicestershire. This role is commutable from Quorn, Loughborough, Leicester, Melton Mowbray, Coalville, Shepshed, Syston, Glenfield, Ibstock, Sileby, Kegworth, Nottingham, Derby, Grantham, Matlock, Tunstead, Derby, Dene, Ashbourne, Oakham, Bardon Hill and the surrounding areas.

Role Responsibility
The Processing Plant Supervisor will report to the ‘Phase 2’ Manager andwill manage and be accountable for the operations of this phase in our plant. Safety and operational standards are the fundamentals of the role; with cost control, people management, delivery to customer needs and performance improvement being key. Managing plant compliance with business policies and procedures and ensuring that legislative compliance is also a strong aspect of the role.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities of the Processing Plant Supervisor, not exhaustive:
- Leading and active supervisory of the Phase 2 Backshift operational team under your direct reporting line
- Delivery of toolbox talks
- Manage all aspects of shift production
- Drive operational performance through KPI’s
- Effectively coach and performance manage all direct reports
- Timely resolution of queries assigned to the sector
- Take responsibility for their own safety and that of colleagues and business partners
- Maintain site housekeeping to a high standard
- Monitor the production of product to meet customer needs whilst meeting internal quality requirements
Key Stakeholders you will liaise with in the responsibilities of this role:
- Business Manager - Area Director - Health & Safety team - Procurement and support teams - National Logistics team - Area Operations teams - Area Commercial teams - Area HR Manager - Industry Bodies - Customers
The position is a role working Backshift Monday to Friday with the ideal candidate providing flexibility and occasional weekend working to meet with the plant’s production needs
The Ideal Candidate
To be successful in this role the ideal candidate for the position of Processing Plant Supervisor you will have experience and knowledge of:
ESSENTIAL Experience
- Experience in Quarry operations
- Strong knowledge of Quarry regulations
- Previous experience of a Hard Rock Quarry environment – would prove highly beneficial
- Full knowledge of Risk Assessments and Safe System of Work Systems
- Working knowledge of production processes
- Working knowledge of H&S and Environmental policies
DESIRABLE Qualifications
- IOSH Managing Safely
- NVQ in fixed and mobile plant operations
Skills
- Able to actively identify and implement site and process improvements
- Able to look for opportunities to identify customer needs
- Able to effectively communicate to feed opportunities into customer services / sales
